📖 Ice Giants

Polar bears are the largest land carnivores on Earth! They live in the freezing arctic, a land of ice and snow. Their white fur provides perfect camouflage against the snow, but did you know their skin underneath is actually black?

These bears are built for the cold. They have a thick layer of fat called blubber to keep them warm. Because they spend so much time swimming and hunting in the ocean, they are classified as marine mammals. They use their giant, webbed paws like paddles to move through the icy water.

Most polar bears are solitary, which means they like to travel alone. However, a mother bear is very protective of her fluffy cubs. She stays with them for about two years, teaching them how to find food and stay safe in the beautiful, frozen north.
